I adopted a puppy a year ago who was an absolute nightmare! He destroyed everything and just refused to potty train. I called up Ry at All Dog Solutions to see if he could help me out (I had tried several other trainers around town). Ry was extremely helpful and had reasonable rates. He came to my house, worked with me step by step and informed me on dog psychology to explain why my puppy was doing the things he did. One year later, my crazy puppy has turned into a calm, well balanced dog and I have no one but Ry to thank.
I adopted an adult pound puppy who within the first month, after settling in a bit, showed some of his true colors as an individual that is socially inept and emotionally disturbed (that is, has dog-aggressive tendencies). I'm quite active and wanted a dog that can be equally active and well adjusted - he needs to be able to handle encounters with other dogs on walks, hikes, and the occasional game night at the house. So, we sought help.
I was looking for trainers that were adequately qualified to work with canine aggression (we were beyond the need to simply sit and stay, he can learn those "tricks" no problem), and I was finicky about the methods I used. I wanted the training to be more psychologically motivated than machismo-fear-dominance motivated, and after talking to quite a few trainers in town, Ry Steffen of All Dog Solutions appeared to be one of my few options
I briefly worked with another trainer who I discovered clearly wasn't able to meet the needs of my dog and I, so that was a loss of money for me but a learning experience about the difference between an okay trainer and a great trainer. Ry subscribes to many Caesar Milan type beliefs and practices - the focus is always on the pack leader staying in control, with a "calm assertive" state of mind and a beta dog will respond in kind. His techniques have transformed the interactions in our household with both the humans and the dogs in a much better place (emotionally speaking). We can do things we couldn't before - have nice, long, calm walks without the dogs freaking out every time we pass another dog - and I feel in control and am able to quell bad situations often before they happen (or handle them quickly and calmly when they do). The dogs are clearly happier in a calmer state of mind knowing who the pack leader is. Ry really focuses on the dog and pack psychology and explains the biological basis behind all the techniques he uses. He's sometimes a little hard to get ahold of and is ridiculously busy, so don't expect to be able to set up a meeting the day you call... But, if you and your puparoo need help making life more manageable, he's your guy.
Ry and his team rescued our dog. She was in a difficult situation with another family and he went and picked her up and took her in. We have moved 2,000 miles away and couldn't get to her so the first thing we thought was to call All Dog Solutions. We could never repay him or show as much gratitude as we feel for taking her in and re-adopting her to a good home. Thank you so much!
You can teach an old dog new tricks...at least Ry can. Our dog Josie was forced to change her lifestyle. From a single dog household to a multi-dog household, she didn't accept the change at all. From an extremely aggressive attitude, she has changed completely. Just as Ry said she would, with the proper training of Josie and her owners, we now have the pleasant dog we knew was there all the time.
We have a 10 week old labrador puppy whose nipping/chewing borders agressive, particularly with my husband and son. We are interested in private sessions.
About a year ago, after many unsuccessful attempts with other trainers, we found Ry who helped us with our aggressive Dachshund mix. Not only did he help us identify the reason for aggression, he also gave us strategies for dealing with it. Now, he is the only person who we trust to leave our little guy with when we leave town. Recently, upon returning from our honeymoon, Ry had pictures and video to show just how much fun Oscar had while staying with him. Apparently, when he boards with Ry he has a little vacation of his own:0)
Ry has completely transformed my dog and he was at our house for a total of 3 hours. She used to jump on the couches, pee on the carpet, and walk all over the place while we were out for a stroll. She does NONE of that anymore, she walks in line with me and does not veer off the extension of her leash. Ry taught us how to regain control of our house and keep our dog happy at the same time. We couldn't be happier and we just had a baby so it was just in time!
Thanks Ry you are the best!!
I went to Dewey about a month ago and got a 10 year old dalmatian (mix, I think).... whereas she isn't the WORST dog I might have gotten, she does have some "kinks" that I haven't been able to "iron out"... ...so Ry is coming to the rescue next Tuesday, March the 2nd and I'm so hopeful and excited

Was looking for references and found these testimonials very helpful. Will keep you all posted as to what Ry does with little Porscha
I purchased a Bloodhound puppy in July 09 for my boyfriend, he arrived in Sept and was the most adorable little thing. After a few months we realized that bloodhounds are not the lazy dogs that you see on TV. They are very high energy and STUBBORN dogs. After several months of working with Gunner and trying to establish the "Pack Leader" role with him, it was obvious that he was the LEADER, he would not listen to any commands, he was bullying our 15yr old lab and just plain stressing us out. That is when I found Ry, I was skeptical at first but thought what do I have to lose at this point. I met with Ry on Jan 23rd, that has turned out to be the best decision I have ever made. After "MY" training session that day, I definitely had a different dog and I myself was different. I have been working with Gunner everyday since and I am happy to report that we now walk twice a day, with NO pulling, he now sleeps in his bed, he is no longer bullying my other dog, no more counter surfing or getting on the furniture. I now have a bloodhound who is enjoyable Thanks to Ry and my hard work. I am proud to say that I am the PACK LEADER now. I am looking forward to phase 2 & 3. This experience has been well worth every penny spent. Thanks again Ry and see you soon.
My sweet dog Chloe (lab and pit mix) endured the trauma of being attacked by two large dogs at the same time. This event changed her into an aggressive and dominant dog. From then on, I could not bring her around other dogs and she'd sometimes even turn on other people. She bit my neighbor when I was 7 months pregnant, and one day she turned on me. For utter fear that she would turn on my now 1 year old son, I prepared to find my once sweet and friendly girl a new home. I found Ry in the nick of time. He proved to me that no matter what past an animal has, they absolutely can be rehabilitated. He has instilled a new trust between Chloe and I, and brought the happy dog out in her that I had almost forgotten. His methods are designed to train the owner just as much as the dog. It turned out that it was not as difficult and frustrating as I thought it would be. I can truly say that Ry was Chloe's last hope and he saved her life! He gave me my dog back and has allowed us to go on living a balanced life. It has been one of the most incredible and transforming experiences of our lives.
